FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fair Haven, NJ, May 23, 2007- The ALS Foundation announced today that Renascent Group team was the top fundraising team at the Seaside Heights, NJ Walk to D’Feet ALS held this past weekend. There were 825 walkers in attendance and $159,000.was raised. The five year total for the ALS Walk rose to over $500,000. The Renascent Group was a major contributor to the walk collecting over $30,000. (and still rising). The Renascent Group had 70 walkers and sported a “Walking For a Cure” t-shirts with a passage of inspiration from the Bible on the back.
The Renascent Group has recently become involved with The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter. After Donna Beriont, one of the co-founders learned that her mother, Nancy Noone was diagnosed with ALS this past fall; the family went to work raising money to find a cure for their beloved mother and grandmother. Donna says, “It is an inspirational story about hope, faith, a family and a company.” It all started when Carleigh Beriont, Nancy Noone’s oldest granddaughter donated all the money she earned while tutoring local school children as a surprise Christmas gift to her family members. Family and friends then started asking how they could also help. Renascent Group decided the best way to raise awareness and funds was to take a part in the annual walks that are done around the tri-state area to raise money and awareness.
"When my daughter unselfishly donated her earnings to the ALS Association in Philadelphia as a surprise Christmas present for all the members of our family there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It gave us all a true and meaningful feeling of Christmas. Then a light bulb went on in my head about how we could raise awareness about ALS and help my mother who was recently diagnosed with this horrible disease,” said Donna Beriont, co-founder of the Renascent Group and avid ALS supporter.
The Renascent Group is very proud to be a part of the ALS charity and the Seaside Heights ALS Walk. Renascent Group would like to emphasize how important it is to help raise this money to eventually find a cure for a disease that both the Renascent Group family and many other families worldwide have been stricken with. We feel it is our responsibility to help spread the word in not only our local community, but as far as we can reach.
